This Week in Dead Meat | August 11th

Final Destination 7, Halloween Horror Nights' Full Lineup, and a new Joe Keery horror movie

James Corner

Hoo boy it has been a busy few weeks.

Earlier this month we took the train down to San Diego and spent a whirlwind 30 hours at Comic-Con, doin all sorts of activations and panels and interviews. Most of what we filmed was for socials and can be found on our Instagram and TikTok, but we've still got some longer form videos yet to be released: An interview with some cast members from Alien: Earth (the first episode rules!!) and another video discussing the pilot episode as well as the rest of what we did at the convention.

Then last week we were in Chicago for Flashback Weekend, our first time at that con. It was great - the fans who showed up were the sweetest and we got to spend a lot of time with the other guests. I am happy to report that the Terrifier cast and crew is unanimously amazing. We knew a lot of them from the first two movies already, but we got to meet some Terrifier 3 folk and they fit right in with the rest of those sweethearts. And I'm VERY excited to say we have an old school convention video coming out showcasing our experience at Flashback Weekend. That'll probably be coming to you some time this week.

Add in the amazing activation we visited for the upcoming Him (and interview we did with director Justin Tipping, to come out sometime soon) and... well, we may have stretched ourselves a little thin. Chelsea and I both wound up getting sick and her cough is still going strong (this happens once a year, unfortunately - she'll get a stubborn cough that sticks around for weeks. Not fun at all). I regret overcommitting ourselves to things because we had to cancel an appearance at Crystal Lake Nightmares in Los Angeles on Saturday. If anyone traveled or purchased tickets for the con to see us, and couldn't get refunded, let me know. We can try to do something for you, because I feel really bad about it.

We've got more Kill Counts coming your way but as you can see, we're doing a lot of other stuff too. I know there's a big part of the audience who only watches Kill Counts, and I feel bad that we can't deliver weekly episodes to them this year. But this other stuff keeps me sane, happy, and motivated, so for our sake we need to switch it up sometimes and spend our time and energy doing non-Kill Count things. Hope you can understand that position. It doesn't mean I love the show any less, I just like variety in my life.Speaking of which, there's been a huge variety of horror at the theater this summer. Make sure you go see and support some of them if you can - my personal pick is Weapons. Thanks, everyone!
