This Week in Dead Meat | April 6th
Dead Meat Live Shows, first looks at M3GAN and Five Nights at Freddy's, and more from CinemaCon.
Happy Sunday! No James’ Corner this week as he’s wrapped up in the hustle of the Overlook Film Festival, but what we do have is CinemaCon news!
The industry trade show was this past week and THAT means a whole bunch of filmmakers talking about/showcasing their upcoming movies (Superman movie is probably going to make me [Ben] cry).
So scroll on down to to see the biggest horror news and trailers to come out of the show!
Plus, on the Dead Meat front, we’ve had big announcements about the Dead Meat Horror Awards AND a Dead Meat Podcast liveshow happening this Friday in Glasgow.

What’s Going On In The World

‘Black Phone 2’ Taking a Freddy Krueger Approach to Franchise Continuation: The question of how exactly Ethan Hawke would return in Black Phone 2, we’ve gotten our first look at the sequel’s plan to bring back the The Grabber.
New Resident Evil Movie Will Be ‘Unlike Any of the Previous Films,’ Director Promises: After six entries in the Milla Jovovich universe and one failed attempt at a reboot, Barbarian’s Zac Cregger is taking his crack at adapting the legendary video game franchise.
‘Predator: Badlands’ Unveils Surprising Premise, Tense First-Look at CinemaCon: Dan Trachtenberg’s next entry in the Predator franchise, following his surprise hit Prey, has gotten its first details: apparently seeing Elle Fanning teaming up with a Predator.
Trailers
M3GAN 2.0 Trailer: The era of the M3GAN franchise is officially upon us with the first trailer for M3GAN 2.0.
Five Nights At Freddy’s 2 Teaser: Get your pizza order ready, cause it’s time to return to Freddy Fazbear’s.
Daydreamers Trailer: Leaving Hollywood megafranchises behind, we have this Vietnamese vampire film about a young vampire on the run after breaking vampire law.

Announcements

A lots been happening this week. Much of it is exciting! Some of it is copyright.
Let’s get the copyright out of the way first: the Smile 2 Kill Count and Substance Kill Count have both been copyright blocked. We’re hoping we can get that fixed, but in the meantime you can still see the explicit cuts for just $1/month on Patreon.
In exciting news, though, we announced two new live shows. This Friday April 11th James and Chelsea will be doing a live Dead Meat Podcast in Glasgow where they’ll be talking Dog Soldiers! Tickets available here!
We’re also hosting a Live Premiere and Post-Discussion of the Dead Meat Horror Awards at Dynasty Typewriter! For in person tickets, you get to watch the show on the big screen with fellow Dead Meat fans as well as the Dead Meat team. Then James, Chelsea, Zoran, and special guests from our (recently revealed) voting panel will do a live Post-Mortem, breaking down their thoughts on the past year in horror and answering audience questions.
Livestream tickets are also available, but to be clear the Horror Awards will still be premiering for free at the same time on Youtube. So what does the livestream ticket get you? For one, access to the post-show discussion where you’ll be able to ask questions directly to the panel. We will be releasing the panel VOD to Youtube later.
